Curtis Hanson
Curtis Lee Hanson, 73, of Hilo, died Sept. 13, 2020, at his residence. Born May 8, 1947, in Graceville, Minnesota, he was an engraver, car detailer, co-owner of Shoreline Sign and Design and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Sept. 10 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 6 p.m. celebration of life. Casual attire is requested.
He is survived by wife, Natalie Hanson of Keaukaha; daughters, Keonali (Brian) Hutley of Oregon, Ka’ala Hanson of Keaukaha, Melissa (Terence) Kua-Nachor of Waikoloa and Dawn (Keola) Kin In of Kailua-Kona; sons, Marcus (Adrienne Wallace) Hanson of Keaukaha and Kauhane (Cierra-Mae) Hanson of California City, California; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; an aunt; and nephews, nieces and cousins.

Eric Hayashi
Eric “Buta” Tetsu Hayashi, 49, of Hilo, died Aug. 8, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 22, 1971, in Hilo, he was employed by the Hawaii County Fire Department as a fire equipment operator and a member of the Lincoln Wreckers Athletic Association and Hawaii Fire Fighters Association.
Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 11 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo for a public visitation. Private memorial service to follow. Casual attire is requested.
He is survived by companion, Barian Buyuan of Hilo; mother, Aileen Hayashi of Hilo; brother, Brandon (Monica Tupas) Hayashi of Hilo; maternal grandmother, Miyome Tanaka of Hilo; hanai-daughter, Tabitha Tomori of Hilo; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Jerry Iokia
Jerry Allan Iokia, 67, of Waimea and formerly of Nankuli, Oahu, died Aug. 26, 2021, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Jan. 17, 1954, in Honolulu, he was a retired maintenance man for the Department of Education, member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, board member of Kula no na Po’e Hawaii o Papakolea, Kawalo, Kalawahine, cultural practitioner of Na Lomilomi O Papakolea and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Watami Kishi
Watami “Shirley” Kishi, 94, of Hilo, died Aug. 21, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a mechanic for the federal government in Guam, employed at Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut and U.S. Army World War II veteran.

He is survived by wife, Tomoko Kishi of Hilo; daughter, Nancy (Nolan) Kishi-Char of Honolulu; brothers, Yasutami Kishi and Norio Kishi, both of Hilo; sister, Shizuno Kishi of Hilo; one granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
